PARIVARTAN
Parivartan is designed to improve key family health and sanitation behaviors, increase equity and accountability of health services, and sustain critical family health and sanitation outcomes of women and children. It will be achieved in close collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s (BMGF’s) other Ananya Initiative partners, especially the BBC WST Shaping Demand and Practices (SDP) and CARE’s Integrated Family Health Initiatives (IFHI) grants and the planned supply-side sanitation initiative (3SI).
Several special studies/operations research (primarily conducted by FRHS) are planned during the course of the project, as these will be crucial to refining the strategies throughout the project. Research will be conducted on gender equity issues, particularly as it pertains to community group participation, and issues surrounding social justice and marginalization. Research is also planned to assess the usability of training resources and the effectiveness of the disseminated results. Participatory qualitative techniques will be used to complement quantitative data on the equity, accessibility and quality of health, sanitation and welfare services. The findings of these studies will be used to improve program implementation.
